Growing Minds Occupational Therapy is a unique and innovative service based in the western suburbs of Adelaide, catering to the diverse needs of individuals aged 2-25. Our goal is to build brighter futures, one mind at a time through empowering young people to enhance their independent functioning and cultivate meaningful connections with peers in a supportive and inclusive environment.
We are committed to fostering an atmosphere where young individuals can embrace their true selves, providing a warm, positive, and enjoyable space for therapy services. We understand the importance of supporting young people in their learning and daily living contexts. That’s why we offer sessions at schools, ensuring seamless integration of therapy interventions within the learning environment. Additionally, we provide sessions at home to support individuals in developing skills and independence in their daily lives or within the community.
At Growing Minds Occupational Therapy, we have reimagined the concept of therapy sessions. By adapting our approach to various settings, we create a tailored and effective experience that aligns with the unique needs and goals of each individual. Whether it’s at school, home or in the community, we strive to make therapy accessible and beneficial in enhancing their overall well-being and development.
At Growing Minds Occupational Therapy, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive and client-centred care. We offer our services throughout the metro Adelaide region, ensuring accessibility for individuals and families seeking support. Our commitment to holistic care extends beyond our therapy sessions, as we actively collaborate with other service providers to create a network of support.
We understand the importance of continuity of care and strive to establish strong connections with schools, community organizations, and other relevant stakeholders. By actively linking into these resources, we ensure that our clients receive a comprehensive and coordinated support system that aligns with their unique goals and aspirations.
Growing Minds Occupational Therapy is dedicated to promoting health and wellbeing by enabling individuals to engage in meaningful activities. By considering a person’s skills, values, and environment, we provide support to enhance participation and independence in everyday tasks.
In the context of children and young people, occupational therapists play a vital role in supporting their development across various areas. This includes:
Boosting confidence and resilience through activities that align with their abilities and provide appropriate challenges.
Conducting standardised assessments to inform therapy objectives and identify challenges that may affect an individual’s performance in daily activities.
Providing tailored recommendations to schools and parents.
Developing independence in self-care tasks such as hygiene, dressing, sleep, and toileting.
Building skills for independent living, such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and laundry.
Addressing sensory processing difficulties to support regulation.
Promoting emotional regulation awareness and providing strategies for appropriate responses.
Enhancing play and social skills to foster positive friendships.
Developing fine motor skills like dexterity, manipulation, hand strength, and bilateral coordination.

At Growing Minds Occupational Therapy, we aim to empower children and young adults to build on their strengths, participate in meaningful activities and bridge developmental gaps to support engagement in life occupations and foster holistic development.
